Today we say goodbye to our founding director. Renée Prins is handing over the reins after 23 years of dedication and hard work; building a successful company that actively contributes to the agricultural industry and creates opportunities for local scientists.
Renée leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to manifest in new wheat and barley cultivars, exciting horticultural projects, young scientists and inspired teachers.
It is only fitting that she was awarded a Trail Blazer Women in Agriculture award yesterday at Future Agri Perspectives’ Women’s Voice in Agriculture Competition. This award honours her unwavering devotion to excellence and her vision to establish a genomics centre to service South African agriculture.
We thank Renée for her leadership and fearless tenacity to drive local agricultural genetics. We commit to carry this forward in all of CenGen’s future endeavours.
