A fourth UK-SA bioinformatics workshop

From 20-24 February, several of our team members put their coding hats back on and attended the last of the series of Wheat Genomics and Bioinformatics workshops hosted at the Stellenbosch University Ukwanda campus in Worcester. The fourth workshop, presented by Drs Diane SaundersHugh Woolfenden and Burkhard Steuernagel from the John Innes Centre (JIC) in Norwich, UK, focused on advanced wheat sequence data analysis and interpretation.

Our sincere thanks to the UK trainers who shared their expertise with us since the first workshop in 2017, and who have designed the courses around the needs of South African wheat scientists. We’d also like to express our gratitude towards the sponsors of this workshop, The British High Commission, UK Science & Innovation Network, DIPLOMICS and Syngenta (workshop dinner).

CenGen and JIC are looking forward to exploring new collaborative opportunities to strengthen this SA-UK partnership!
